Phone Mount

I designed a custom phone mount designed to fit seamlessly into the existing defrost vent of a Subaru Forester, addressing the lack of solid, robust phone mount options on the market.

The design includes a front plate that attaches to a mounting bracket with two bolts for stability. I integrated off-the-shelf components into the rotational mechanism, offering a seamless, OEM-like fit while maintaining the directional airflow of the defrost vents.

The mount is attached to the rotational mechanism using a spring loaded ball detent, enabling secure locking at 26 positions, each spaced ~14° apart. This design not only maximizes usability but also provides a satisfying click when snapping into place, enhancing the user experience.
